Influenza B has arrived in Chicago Western Suburbs

Each year, the typical sequence of events in the influenza season is the early appearance of Influenza A, followed by the appearance of Influenza B.

This is considered by some to be a marker of the reduction of the incidence of influenza in the community population.  At 4path we have been detecting Influenza B cases over the past couple of weeks, using the Resp-20  RT-PCR upper respiratory infectious disease panel.
